今日は学校４日目です。今日はお世話になってます学校の校長先生を紹介します。おおらかでダンディーなゲリー校長先生は生徒たちに化学も教えています。液体の混合による発熱反応、吸熱反応？の実験を見学させていただきました。
インタビューに丁寧に答えていただきました。

中高校長のゲリー ハリス先生にインタビュー
Q: Will you introduce Alkimos Baptist College briefly?
簡単にアルキモス バプティスト カレッジについて紹介してください。
A:Alkimos Baptist College is a coeducational K to Yr 11 College in the Northern suburbs of Perth WA. We are a growing school that only started in 2011 to cater for the rapid growth in the Northern Coastal region of WA. We will be K to Yr 12 in 2015.
Our College is an open enrollment College but all the Teachers are Christians and we teach with Christian ethics. We have a thriving Christian Education program which we call Connect. We believe that it is not only important for children to obtain a good education but to connect with healthy relationships with their family, with friends, with the community and also with God.
パースの北部郊外にあるアルキモス バプティスト カレッジは幼稚園から高校まである共学の学校でキリスト教に基づいた教育をしています。「コネクト」というキリスト教精神を育むプログラムがあります。子供達にとって良い教育を得るだけでなく、家族、友達、地域社会、そして神様との健やかな関係を築き上げるのに大切であると信じています。
Q: Why do you like working at Alkimos Baptist College?
なぜ先生はここで働くのが好きなのですか?
A: Imagine going to a workplace and working with a team of talented teachers and senior leaders that are like minded, working together in unity for a common cause. Each using their gifts and talents to support, encourage and develop the students in their care as well as support their work colleagues. It is a privilege to lead this team. I thank God each day for this wonderful opportunity.
共通の目的意識、一貫性を持った有能な教師集団と共に働ける場所だからです。教師たちは自分の賜物を生かして生徒たちをサポートし、励まし、成長させると共に、教師同志もサポートし合っています。このような集団を率いることは本当に名誉なことです。これらのチャンスを日々いただけることに神様に感謝をしています。
Q: Why did you decide to become a teacher?
なぜ教師になろうと思ったのですか?
A: I have always enjoyed serving people. Teaching has given me an opportunity to speak into the lives of young people and make a difference.
人に仕えることにいつも喜びを感じていました。教えることは私にとって若者たちの活力を吹き込み、影響を与えるチャンスをもたらしてくれると思ったからです。
